![]() ![]() I was surprised they had mackerel as that is an oily fish that can go off quickly, it actually wasn't bad. The sushi set out was pretty average and nothing to hard to easily procure from suppliers. I didn't expect quality like I see in trips to Japan or even to well known sushi bars so I was not surprised. I had half a glass and ordered a Kirin Beer.Įveryone got up to go to the buffet. It came out and was barely drinkable, quite sweet. Waiter came back and said no more Pinot Noir and we could have the Canyon Road Merlot or Cab or the 19 Crimes Shiraz! None sounded good by my son asked me to pick a wine and I went with the Canyon Road Merlot. We ordered the Pinot Noir and a round of water. 6 reds and a few whites of the lower end grocery store variety but they were priced accordingly which was some reason to celebrate. I had a look at the Wine List on a small card on the table. Waiter came by, he was good overall and took drink orders. Nothing special, hard wood and Formic trimmed tables and heavy wooden chairs, tile floors so all very easy to clean up. The wood paneled walls evoke more of a feeling of a lodge house in the Canadian Rockies where we might see a moose outside. That being said the place seemed clean and looked relatively good. OK, I will admit I don't like buffet style restaurants and the only reason I went here with my wife was because our son had a 48th birthday get together with 8 family members. Overall, it was Ok, but it could’ve been better. ![]() So… it’s not the best thing, but it was ok. The crab taste really popped out, and the sauce drowned the actual fish. I think that if it was fried, or grilled, it will be better. I love octopus, and I was not expecting the boiled taste. The next thing I got was some broccoli and some octopi. The mussels were nice chilled though, and they had a unidentifiable sauce on them that tasted like a cross between two sour sauces. They had some weird taste, and I am assuming that it is not fresh. The lemon got the taste hopping out though… 0/2 It tasted purified and maybe with minerals. They were still great staff, and it was nice. The staff are mostly friendly, however the guy at the noodle station did not seem to know what I’m saying, so I might have gotten the wrong noodles. That changed my mind about the first star. When they told us where to sit, I did realize that there was a shrimp flake or something like that. The lanterns on the ceiling were very nice, and the warm light was very soothing. I went with my mother and my younger cousin.
